Terms & cancellation policy
These terms apply to lessons, packages and road-test car rentals provided by Canola Lane Driving School. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under The Consumer Protection Act (Manitoba) or other applicable law.
1. Bookings
A booking request made online is not confirmed until we contact you and agree an instructor, date and time. You must hold a valid Manitoba learner licence (or other valid licence allowing you to drive) for every lesson and show it on request. We may decline or end a lesson if driving would be unsafe or unlawful — for example if you appear impaired or do not have a valid licence.
2. Prices and payment
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes. GST and, where applicable, Manitoba RST are added and shown separately on your receipt. Single lessons are paid at or before the lesson; packages are paid upfront or in the instalments shown on our pricing page. MPI fees for knowledge tests, road tests and licences are paid by you directly to MPI.
3. Cancellation and rescheduling

Weather and safety: if Environment and Climate Change Canada issues a weather warning for Winnipeg (for example blizzard, freezing rain or extreme cold), or if we decide conditions are unsafe, we reschedule at no cost. Normal winter conditions are not a reason for cancellation — winter driving is part of learning here.
Our cancellations: if we cancel, you choose a free reschedule or a full refund for that lesson.
4. Packages
Packages are valid for the period shown (6, 9 or 12 months) from the first lesson. Unused lessons may be refunded at the single-lesson price difference: we deduct the lessons already taken at full single prices and refund the balance. Packages are personal and not transferable without our agreement.
5. Road tests
We prepare you for the road test but do not book, conduct or score it, and we cannot guarantee a result.
6. Vehicles and safety
Lessons take place in our insured, dual-brake training vehicles unless agreed otherwise. If you use your own vehicle, it must be roadworthy, registered and insured, and you are responsible for confirming coverage with your insurer.

8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
